If you’re one of those Endless Summer fans who’s always in search of the perfect wave—or if you simply love an ocean view—the Wave Watcher House in Mal Pais, Costa Rica is an ideal location to scan the coast for the perfect spot to hit the surf. Sitting just 100 feet below the Hilltop House, the sliding glass doors along the entire west side of this 2 bedroom/2 bathroom house bring the panoramic views of the ocean into every room, while keeping the elements outside.
The Master bedroom features a king size bed, a private bathroom with decorative, mosaic tiles, and a patio with oversized reclining deck chairs overlooking the ocean. The Guest bedroom offers an equally breathtaking view through the sliding glass doors that open to the pool. This room is equipped with a queen size bed. A portable A/C unit can be moved from room-to-room, providing added comfort during the warmer months.
The living area contains comfortable, oversized furniture that doubles as sleeping quarters for two additional guests, making it possible to sleep six guests in the house comfortably. A stereo system (iPod compatible) creates the perfect ambiance for your tropical getaway.
If a home-cooked meal is what you’re after, the Wave Watcher House features a fully-equipped kitchen with all the amenities one would expect at home, including a refrigerator/freezer, full-size oven, toaster, coffee maker, dishware and cutlery. Just outside the living area is a covered patio with a dining table that seats six and is just steps from the pool. Enjoy a delicious meal served by the chef or simply cool down in the shade with a cocktail. It is the perfect spot to wind down the day and take in the breathtaking sunset.
Surrounded by the lush, tropical rainforest, the only visitors to the Wave Watcher House are a wide variety of exotic butterflies, birds and the occasional Howler Monkey in the trees below. A concierge, gardener and maid are at the disposal of guests who desire a more personal touch to their stay.
